Born in Wayne Co. she is the daughter of the late Helen Pigford and Earl Royal Sr. and the loving daughter of Jeffrey Stokes.
A HomeGoing Service will be held Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mark FWB Church with Dr. Joseph Warren, officiating. Burial will follow in First Congragation Church Cemetery.
She leaves to cherish loving memories to her husband, Dennis L. Kornegay; three children, Helen F. Broadhurst(Romeo),James Broadhurst and Pamela Thompson (Kenneth)of Goldsboro; one stepson, Dennis Coley of Goldsboro; stepfather, Jeffrey Stokes of Mt. Olive, mother-in-law, Ida Kornegay of Goldsboro; three sisters, Lisa Williams (Zeno) of Warsaw, Norma J. Coleman of Mt. Olive, and Edna Brown of Ayden-Grifton; ten brothers, Thomas R. Stokes Of Mt. Olive, Jerry Stokes (Julia) of Dudley, Earl Royal Jr. of Hawaii, Fletcher Royal of Wilmington, Thomas R. Royal of Kansas City,MO Michael A. Royal (Jennette) of Savanna,GA.,Charles M Royal (Pam) of Colorado Springs,CO, Donald R. Royal, Linwood Royal and Deroy Royal all of Mt. Olive; three brothers-in-law, Ezra Kornegay of Germany, Ivory Kornegay (Wandetta) of Maryland, Edward Kornegay (Suie) of Newark, NJ; special aunt, Edna Pigford of Mt.
