Faison - Mrs. Edith Hill, 81 of 150 Daniel Hill Lane, answered the Master's Call on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
She was born in Warsaw, NC, June 19, 1936 to the late Jonas Lee and Carrie Mae Best Sutton. Edith attended Douglas High School in Warsaw, NC. She joined First Missionary Church at an early age and sung in the church choir. Edith was married to her " knight in shining armour" the late Deacon Daniel Hill Jr. for many, many years. Although she remained a member at First Baptist Church Warsaw, when her husband became deacon at Hills Chapel Missionary Baptist Church she was in pursuit of joining the Hills Chapel Church family and continued fellowship there until her health failed.
Edith was preceded in death by four sisters, Sally Williams, Daisy Williams, Emma Sutton and Josephine McCall; two brothers, Jonah Lee Sutton Jr. and James Willie Sutton.
She leaves to cherish her memory to her daughter, Karen Patricia Hill of Faison; son, Ronald Gene Sutton of Roxboro ; an adopted son, Dywane Lee Hill ( Judy) of Dudley; two grandsons, Demond Hill (Rene) of Washington, DC and Phillip Sutton of Roxboro; eight great- grandchildren; three sisters, Carrie L. Sutton of Washington, DC, Helen Carlton of Rocky Point, Dessie Bell of Brooklyn, NY; one brother, Reginald Earl Sutton Sr. (Gladys) of Warsaw and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
