To The Hicks Family, Words cannot be expressed at this time. Your mother was one of my grandmother's best friends. So many times we would she her walking the path going to Mr. Walter and Ms. Emma's house--waving--then she would cross the highway and come over to our house. You could hear the laughter from the porch of her and my grandparents. My grandfather would say Coody/ie (spelling maybe off) have you cooked Robert any dinner--she would say "Mr. Joe, I cooked"--my grandmother would tell my grandfather--"Joe leave my friend alone".
