Rose Hill - Gaynell Mozingo Sasser, age 77, passed away peacefully at Rosemary Rest Home in Rose Hill after a period of declining health. Born in Edgecombe County on October 5, 1940, Gaynell was the third of four  daughters of Otis Herman Mozingo and Anniebelle Griffin Mozingo. 

Gaynell is survived by her four children Donnie Michael Long (Susan) of Rose Hill, Diann Long Wells of Wilmington, John Harold Long of Harrells, and Susan Long Lanier (Keith) of Harrells, in addition to six grandchildren Candace Long Brewington of Rose Hill, Amberly M. Long of Greenville, Deanna K. Wells of Wilmington, Kelsey I. Long of Holden Beach, Jerry K. Lanier (Haley) of Four Oaks, Olivia Lanier of Harrells, three great-grandsons Jacob and Elijah Brewington of Rose Hill, Champ Kamm of Wilmington, and two sisters Gladys Mozingo Bowers of Robersonville, and Sue Mozingo Cherry (Richard) of Everetts. 

She is predeceased by her parents, sister Edna Mozingo Mobley, and former husbands Donnie Harold Long and Burnell Sasser.
Gaynell enjoyed dancing, music, and being with her family. 

Special thanks is extended to the caring staff of Rosemary Rest Home and especially to Jackie and Tiffany who treated Gaynell like family. 

There will be a private memorial service Sunday in Rose Hill at the home of her son, Mike Long.
