Lettie Carr Obituary

Maryland - Ms. Lettie Mae Carr  of Maryland formally of Mt Olive transitioned Wednesday, February 20, 2019. 

Lettie, born on February 16, 1930, in Mt. Olive was one of eight children and the only daughter of Lillie and Cicero Carr.  She was a graduate of Carver High School in Mt. Olive and Community Hospital School of Nursing in Wilmington, NC.

Lettie was an avid reader, who enjoyed autobiographies and fiction.  She also loved politics, news programs, sports (especially basketball), swimming, and attending the theater and cultural events. Lettie was always ready to traveling, especially to the Caribbean and to visit family and friends in New York City, Maryland and Ohio. When at home in Mt Olive, you would often find Lettie in her yard, attending to her flowers.

In addition to her parents, she has been reunited with her beloved brothers, Ralph, Lemont, David John, Willie, Carlvester, Donald and Maurice Carr.

Left to cherish memories of Lettie are her nieces, Peggy Scurry M.D. (Dennis,M.D.) of Silver Springs, MD and Kimberly Carr of Albany, NY; nephew, Franklin "Dale" Carr of Hollywood, CA; sisters-in-law, Rosa Lee Carr of Columbia, SC and Roseline Carr Walcott of Boston, MA; and a host of other relatives and dear friends, including Larry West, Beaty Dobson and Beth Olmstead.
