Mt. Olive - Mrs. Lillie Blanche Brimmage, 99 of 602 E. Pollock St. transitioned Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at her residence.
Born in Pamlico Co., she is the daughter of the late James Lillian Wright and Ludora Collins Wright and wife of the late Robert W. Brimmage Sr.
She was an educator at Gatlin Creek School in Arapahoe, G.W. Carver High School and Mount Olive Jr. High School. It was here that she touched the lives of many of her students by encouraging them to do well in life and learning. She was also dutiful in her church, Winn Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Mother Board and other auxiliaries.
Her love and legacy will be cherished by daughters, Jacqueline L. Brimmage (James) Anderson of Chapel Hill and Marilyn K. Brimmage of Mt. Olive; sister, Dora Lucretia Wright Bond of Arapahoe, brothers, Dallis R. "Freddie" Wright of Fayetteville and Alphonso C. (Lillie) Wright of Hamden, CT; four granddaughters, Tanya Jones, Lea O. Anderson, Lauren G. Anderson and Lillian M. Anderson; one great grandson, Deonte Jones and nephews, nieces, cousins and community friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she has been reunited with her son, Robert "Bobby" W. Brimmage Jr.; sisters, Ora Marie Wright Mosley and Thelma Odell Wright Boyd; brothers, Ellis Linwood Wright, Hershel Levi Wright, James Harold Wright and Ulysses Chester Wright.
As the song writer wrote, " If I Can Help Somebody, My living Shall Not Be In Vain. " You served well and will be missed by those whose path you crossed.
