Theodore Owens better known as "Chewey" departed this life on Saturday November 4, 2017 around 4:30 a.m., at his home at 304 East Pollock Street, Mt. Olive, NC.

Chewey was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend to many.

Chewey received his education in the Wayne County Public School System.  He was a graduate of Southern Wayne High School. He attended church at Northeast Chapel, Jesus in Knocking Ministries and City of Champions Church.

Chewey worked at Kemp Industries, Boling Chair and Georgia Pacific in Dudley for twenty-five years. He retired once his health began to decline.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mattie Belle Owens; his father, Theodore Powell; sisters, Evangelist Mary Budd (Rudolph), and Odessa Powell; a brother, Elder Raphael Owens.

Chesey leaves to cherish his loving memories to his devoted wife and caretaker, Brenda D. Owens; sons, Kelin and Tobias "Vel" of the home; one grandson, Kyjuan; mother-in-law, Margaret Armwoodfour sisters-in-law, Margaret Southerland (Elder Clifford Southerland), Apostle Ernestine Grimes (Apostle James Grimes), Bernestine Peterson , all of Dudley and Sandra Own, Fairfield, CA; three brothers-in-law, Leo Armwood (Deborah), Milwaukee, WI, Dewey Armwood (Judy), Dudley, James Armwood (Synetta) Chesterfield, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
