Alfonza Kornegay

Mt. Olive - Mr. Alfonza Kornegay, 72 completed his lifetime on earth in peaceful slumber Sunday, August 27, 2023 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, September 4, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.at North East FWB Church, Mt. Olive.  Interment will follow with military honors at Wayne Memorial Park, Dudley.

He is the son of the late Paul Edward Boyette and Sarah Francis Kornegay and was born in Wayne County.

After 22 years of dedicated service, he retired from the United States Air Force and obtained the rank of Master Sergent.  After retiring from the Air Force, he worked for the State of North Carolina and retired after 20 years of service. 

Cherished and loving memories will linger in the hearts of his wife, Ann Kornegay; two sons, Gregory Kornegay and Christopher Kornegay; an aunt, Joyce Kornegay; sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends,
