Rosehill - Mrs. Bertha Mae Boney, 96 of 4250 US Hwy 117 departed this earthly life on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice, Wilmington.
Born in Duplin Co., she is the daughter of Vann David Carr and Mary Bright Carr.
She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Rose Hill as well as a retired educator with the Duplin County School System. In giving of her time and talents, she served in several capacities, including the Willing Workers Club, Fayetteville State Alumni Association, Daughters of Zion and Retired Teacher's NCAE & NEA.
Her love and legacy will be cherished by her grandchildren, Jina Patrice Dobson of Magnolia and James Ramon Dobson of Kenansville; three great grandchildren, son-in-law, James A. "Bud" Dobson of Magnolia and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she has been reunited with her husband, Willie M. Boney and daughter, Brenda Boney Dobson.
