Born in Wayne Co., he is the son of the late John McNair and Mary Stevens McNair and was a 1976 graduate of Southern Wayne High School

He leaves to cherish memories to his siblings, Bobby McNair (Dora) of Mt. Olive and Brenda McNair of Goldsboro. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
