Born in Duplin Co., he is the son of the late Clifton and Lizzie Moore.

He was an avid fisherman and loved growing plants.

Cherished memories will linger in the hearts of his children, Alisa Simmons of Dudley and Ronald (Thelma) McDuffie of Kenansville; four siblings, Betty Baker of Dudley, Willie Moore of Goldsboro, Emma Faison of Faison and Lucy Cosby of Georgia; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
