Charlie Conyers Jr.

Faison - Mr. Charlie Conyers Jr., 87 peacefully transitioned from this life Thursday, August 31, 2023 at ECU Health Duplin Hospital., Kenansville.

He was born in Magnolia, NC on July 15, 1936, to the late Charlie Sr. and Lillie Mae Conyers.

Charlie had many wonderful gifts and talents.  He found immense joy in playing basketball, baseball and watching western movies.  Additionally, Charlie loved working outside, especially cutting grass, weeding and other handy man tasks. 

In later years, he became an usher and a trustee at Hills Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where he met the love of his life, Joan McCullen.  They were united in holy matrimony on August 10, 2013.  Charlie was a lively, lighthearted, comedic man who loved to laugh and engage in delightful conversations with others.

His memory will be cherished by his loving wife of the home, Joan M. Conyers; son, Bobby Conyers (Helen) and stepdaughter, Janetta M. Judge (Lemont); three grandsons, one step grandson; two great-granddaughters; one brother, Curtis Lee Conyers (Deartha); sisters, Edna Conyers, Lucille Henderson and Annette Conyers; sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
