Born in Duplin Co., he is the son of Curtis P. Hall and Euniece Janet Dancer.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his children, Christopher (Jessica) Monk of Warsaw, Savon Scott of Faison and Shanneka Monk of Maryland; five grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends,
