Ms. Emma Kaye McKnight Williams of Mount Olive, NC who passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the Brian Center of Health and Rehabilitation, Goldsboro, NC. Emma was born on June 12, 1951 to the late McKeever McKnight, Sr., and Frances Louise Cooper McKnight. Emma was 69 years Old.
Emma grew up in Mt. Olive, NC. She graduated from Carver High School in 1969. She eventually left Mt. Olive and moved to Washington DC. She stayed with her sister, Carolyn until she was able to sustain herself. She started her employment with the State Department in Washington, DC until she embarked on a job at NASA and enjoyed several years of employment there. She also served a short time in the Army Reserves. Emma's kindness to others was a spark for many friendships.
Emma's beautiful smile and joyful laughter will always be cherished by her daughter, Monique McKnight-Braxton, her son – law Garrett Braxton; her grandsons Aaron Sylvester Hawkins II and Jonathan Michael Hawkins; two brothers McKeever McKnight Jr. of Capitol Heights, Maryland and Ivory Lee McKnight of Clinton, Maryland; three sisters Sadie Louise Raine and Iwendolyn Gail Arnold both of Mt. Olive, NC and Nora Carlton of College Park, GA, an aunt Ernestine Cooper Washington, of Goldsboro, NC and a host of nephews, nieces, other loving relatives, neighbors, and friends.
Emma is preceded by her husband, Larry Williams; her parents, McKeever McKnight, Sr. and Frances Louise Cooper McKnight; her brother, William Daniel McKnight; and sisters, Carolyn Katrina Hall and Dewilda Williams.
