Floyd A. Jones

Goldsboro - Mr. Floyd A. Jones, 77 of 426 Cardinal Dr. answered the Master's call on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Genesis Health Care, Mt. Olive.

Born in Wayne Co., he is the son of the late Thomas Jones and Mary Elizabeth Forte Jones. 

He proudly served and retired from the United States Army. He received many decorations including the Purple Heart .

Floyd was personable and friendly. He never met a stranger.  In the later years of his life, he joined Best Chapel Freewill Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon Board. He loved his church family and enjoyed attending church until his health declined.

Cherished memories will linger in the hearts of his wife beloved wife of 47 years, Ursula Jones of the home; daughter Joanna of German; two granddaughters, Jasmine and Jennifer; brother, Jessie Jones of New York; two aunts, Lillie Mae Reid of Goldsboro and Corene Jones of South Carolina. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins including a special cousin, Robert Lee Artis, other relatives and friends including special friend, Pastor Clifton Jones.
