Genary (Hill) Faison

Warsaw - Mrs. Genary Faison, On Wednesday, December 23, 2020,  Mrs. Genary Faison, at the tender age of 93, entered into eternal rest at her home. She was the daughter of the late Robert Hill and Annie Garris Hill and was born on April 26, 1927 in Duplin County.

She was educated in the Duplin County School  System attending Douglass High School in Warsaw, NC.

At an early age she joined First Baptist Missionary Baptist Church of Bowdens, North Carolina.  She was a faithful member, a dedicated Mother of the Church, and  head of the Mother Board, also known as “Mother Smooth”.

She was an avid reader, enjoyed sewing, and cross-stitching.

Genary was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Hubert Earl (Monk) Faison.

Her love and legacy will forever be cherished by her daughters, Annie Faison-Davis (Shelby Sr.) of Brooklyn, NY, Helen Marie Faison of Warsaw, NC, Carol Turitz (Mitchell—deceased) of New York City, Anna Lee Faison (Troy) of Faison, NC, Johnnie Faison - Peters (Charles) of Brooklyn, NY and Audrey Faison - Frederick of Warsaw, NC; son/grandson, Johnny Franklin Shinns (Alfreda) of Capitol Heights, MD; eleven grandchildren, Kimberly, Chelly, Odette, John, Tiffany, David, Lisette, Shelby, Jr. Ashley, Courtney; twenty-one great grand-children; three sisters, Dora Hill and Mamie Hill of Philadelphia, PA and Ida Davis of Warsaw, NC; nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.

The love that she had for all of her grand-children and extended family will forever be greatly missed.
