Helen Thigpen

New Bern - Mrs. Helen Thigpen, 93 moved from her earthly house to her new home in Zion Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at ECU Health Duplin Hospital.

Born in Laurns County in South Carolina, she is the daughter of the late Lurece Scott Williams and wife of the late Deacon Otto Thigpen.

Mother Thigpen was a dedicated and faithful member of St. Phillips Missionary Baptist Church in Pollocksville where she served on the mother board.

Although she did not have any biological children, she found a daughter of the hearts in Shirley Hill and son in her Pastor, Rev. Dr. Quincy Hill both of Rose Hill, NC.  In addition, Mother Thigpen leaves to cherish her church family, friends, Janice D. Murrell, Jean Allen and Elder Michele Fisher.
