Isiah Miller

New York - Isiah Miller was born on January 20, 1944 to Cleo Miller and Dossie Mae Miller Taylor in Kenansville, North Carolina.  He was the youngest son of 6 children: James, Bertha, Dorothy, Minnie and Paulette.  Isiah attended E.E. Smith High School in Kenansville, North Carolina and shortly after he graduated in 1962, he moved to Brooklyn, New York.

At age 22 he met and married the love of his life Marie Mitchell on April 3, 1966 and remained married for 55 years until his death on June 2, 2021.  Upon marriage, Isiah and Marie had two children, Isiah Jr. and Yvette. Marie gained a bonus daughter Marie Roby.  Ike as most of his friends and family called him worked for Ideal Handbags as a supervisor full-time and at Franks Barbershop as a barber part-time.  Ike was passionate about owning his own business and cutting hair, so he went to school to get his Master Barbers License and in 1990 he purchased Franks Barbershop.  

On Wednesday, June 2, 2021, Isiah departed this life to be with the Lord.  He lived a full life and is now resting in the arms of the Lord.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleo Miller and Dossie Mae Miller Taylor; his sister, Paulette Torey, and his brothers, James Miller and David Wells.  He leaves to cherish his memory of his wife, Marie Miller; his children, Isiah Miller Jr. (Tina Miller), Yvette Blaylock (Bruce Blaylock), and Marie Roby.  His 7 grandkids, Terrence Miller, Darren Blaylock, Bryce Blaylock, Symone Blaylock, Robin Roby, Shanice Roby, Tyrone Roby, and his 2 great-grandkids, Josiah Mitchell and Juliana Kenan; his step-fataher, John Taylor; brother, Hardy Wells (Adriana); sisters, Bertha McKiver (Cleo McKiver), Dorothy Miller, Minnie Brinson and Ernestine Bowen (King Solomon); sister-in-law, Doris Wells and a host of nieces, nephews, loving family members, and friends.

We were truly blessed to have had Isiah in our lives. He will be greatly missed by all.
