James Edward Swinson Sr.

Goldsboro - Mr. James E.  Swinson Sr., 60 of 332 Alabama Ave. closed the curtains of this life Friday, January 22, 2021 at his residence.

"BoBo" as he was affectionally called by family and friends, is the son of James E. Kornegay and the late Alene Swinson,  He was born in Wayne County on February 29, 1960.

After graduating from Southern Wayne Senior High School, he served in the United States Army. Serving his country honorably. In his last days, he served as president of the West Haven Community Center as well as Jobplus, helping serve food to children during the summer. He served his country and he served his community. He will forever be remembered for having such a kind heart. He will be laid to rest in Eastern Carolina Veterans Cemetery.

Cherished memories will linger in the hearts of his special friend Verlene Coleman of Goldsboro, father, James E. Kornegay of Rochester, NY; three children, James E. Swinson Jr. of Raleigh, Richard Smith of Charlotte and Tiffany Swinson of Greensboro; siblings, Bobbi Jean Ali of Dudley, Yvette Swinson of Wilmington, Semaj Ware of Rochester, NY, Shirley Fryar of Dudley and DeCarol Artis of Goldsboro; he also leaves behind grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. He will truly be missed by all. 

In addition to his mother, he has been reunited with his brother, Reginald Kornegay.
