Mt. Olive - Mr. Joe Simon Wells, 73 of 228 Smith Chapel Rd. departed this earthly life Sunday, February 14, 2021 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Born in Duplin Co., he is the son of the late Wilson and Maggie Leach Wells.
His love and legacy will remain in the hearts of his wife, Betty Wells; six daughters, Patricia Artis of Grantham, Teresa A. Graham ( Michael) of Atlanta, GA. Betty Williams (Stacey) of Goldsboro, Surthera Ferrebee ( Brian) of Raleigh, Keyochia Wells of Charlotte and Alicia Wells of Pikeville; fourteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; three sisters, Shirley Perkins (Luther) of Mt. Olive, Maggie J. Wells of Mt. Olive and Elder Vickie Flow (Elder Anthony) of Mt. Olive; five brothers, David Wells (Maxine) of Mt. Olive, Samuel Wells (Cynthia) of Mt. Olive, John Wells (Elizabeth) of Mt. Olive, Wilson Wells Jr. and Dallas Wells (Sandy) of Norristown, PA. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he has been reunited with his siblings that preceded him in death.
Pot plants, dish gardens and floral vases are welcomed.
