Johnnie Ray Lattner was born October 2, 1964 in Mt. Olive, NC to Ethel Lattner Thomas. He entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 17, 2020 in Newark NJ.
Johnnie received his education from the Wayne County School System and was a 1983 graduate of Southern Wayne High School. After graduation, he moved to Jersey City, NJ where he became employed with Synde High School and worked for many years. He was a loving person who loved every one that he met. Johnnie had a smile that would light up a room. You could always find Johnnie with a pen and pad. Because of this, the kids called him "Mr. Clipboard."
He leaves to cherish memories to his sisters, Carolyn Lattner Fields (Jack) of Byron, GA and Annette Lattner Roberts (Floyd) of Goldsboro, NC; one uncle, James Newkirk (Cornelia); nieces, Shenicka, Nasha, Hope and Danielle; nephews, Shyquan, DeShawn, Keyshawn, Jaylon, and Steffone; special cousins, Monique, Lawanda, Shannon and Tierra. Although Johnnie had no children of his own, he had three God children that he loved dearly, Jamaya, Damiya and Courtney; a special friend, Kenya Pinkney and a host of other family and friends.
Johnnie has been reunited with his mother and he will be greatly missed.
A backyard memorial celebrating Johnnie's life will be held Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. at the home of Floyd and Annette Roberts, 109 Melodie Ln., Goldsboro.
