Joseph Eugene Lofton

Mt. Olive - Mr. Joseph Eugene Lofton, 59, transitioned Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro, NC.

Born in Wayne Co., he is the son of the late Ora Lee Lofton Melvin and David Best.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, bonus dad, Willie Melvin, son, Joseph Lofton Jr and brother, David.

"Pee Wee" or Oil pan as he was fondly called by family and the community leaves to cherish loving memories to his children, Jessica Lofton, Xavier Lofton-Atkinson and David Lofton-Atkinson; two brothers, Dexter Pearsall and Chris Melvin (Ernisha); one sister, Laura Ann Kornegay; uncle, Arthur Lofton (Cheriene); special friend, Johnny Davis and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
