Obituary

Kenansville - Minister Katie Marie Houston, 98 eased from the labor of time into the joy of eternity Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Vidant Duplin Hospital.

Born in Duplin Co., she is the daughter of the late James Edward Southerland and Lina McKiver Southerland and wife of the late Walter Houston.

Her love and legacy will forever be cherished by her children, Pastor Patricia Faison of the home, Lorenzo Houston (Veronica) of Fayetteville, Elder Barbiana Houston-Black of the home, Walter D. Houston (Anne) of Leesburg, FL., Wynetta Copeland (LeBron) of Lawton, OK and Rev. Rickie Houston (Deborah) of Wilmington; twelve grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, five great-greatgrandchildren, one great-great-greatgrandchild; one sister, Inez Cox of Greenville; two special nieces, Phadra Merritt (Alonza) and Vanessa Hobbs (Donald) of Kenansville.  A host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

There will be no public viewing.
