Linda Darnell Oliver

Mt. Olive - Ms. Linda Darnell Oliver-Stitt, 77 of 210 W. Pollock St. transitioned Monday, May 11, 2020 at her residence.

She is the daughter of the late James A. Oliver Jones and Ethel Carlton Oliver and was born in Duplin County on July 18, 1942.

Because of her love for people and serving, she was a viable asset to Carver Alumni and Meals on Wheels. She was also a member of the Mt. Olive Concerned Citizens Organization and president of the local AARP organization. .  Her love for children was also evident after teaching 32 years and retiring with NYC Board of Education.  

Linda was a woman of faith as well. She was a longtime member of the Mt. Neboh Church in New York City and a member of the Mt. Gilead Missionary Baptist Church in Mt Olive where she served as an usher.

Her involvement with numerous organizations, love of family and wit will be greatly missed by all her knew and loved her.

Cherished memories will remain in the hearts of her nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly, numerous cousins and many friends.

In addition to her parents, she has been reunited with her siblings, James A, Oliver Jr. (Jay), Larry D. Oliver and Gwendolyn Oliver Prather.
