Lola Christine Kornegay

Goldsboro - Mrs. Lola Christine Kornegay, 91 transitioned Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Wayne UNC Hospital.

Born in Wayne Co., she is the daughter of the late Dr. W.R. Wallace and Charity Elliott Wallace and wife of the late James "Buck" Kornegay.

She leaves to cherish her love and legacy to her grandchildren, William A. Artis of Faison, Gary L. Artis of Portsmouth, VA., Travis A. Artis of Hackensack, NJ and Diera Lola Artis-Diggs of Williamsburg, VA; five sisters, Lillie Mae King of Goldsboro, Janice ( Henry) Warren of Maryland, Lorraine Wallace of Philadelphia, Jacqueline Spruill of Goldsboro and Linda Faye Wallace of Philadelphia; one brother, William Sprunt Wallace of Charleston, SC; a special cousin, Johnnie Durham of Beulaville; foster brother, Jesse Jones of Washington, DC. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she has been reunited with her sons, Joseph Artis and William "Sonnyy" Artis, granddaughter, LaKida M. Graham and siblings, Kattie Lee Aultman, Lendell Wallace and Carlvester Wallace.

The family will receive friends at 417 Gulley St. Goldsboro, NC.
