Faison - Miss Melissa Stevens, 53 of 1234 Grimes Rd. departed this earthly life Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at her home.
Melissa was born in Wednesday, October 25, 1967 in Wayne County to the late Moses Stevens and Maxine Kelly Stevens.
She grew up in Sampson County and was educated in the Sampson County School System. She was a high school graduate of Hobbton High School and received her Bachelor's Degree from Colorado Technical University.
Melissa was an anointed singer. She sung and traveled with Richland Community Mass Choir and served in the choir ministry at her home church, Goshen Disciples Church, Faison, NC and New Shiloh Holiness Church when she relocated to Durham. NC. Because of her devotion to serve, Melissa was also a member of the kitchen committee and worked in the children's ministry.
She leaves to cherish her memories to her siblings, Moses Frederick Stevens (Kaia) of Baltimore, MD, Ellen Rose Parker (Willie) of Henderson, Barbara Jean Stevens of Wilmington, Eddie Lee Stevens of Kernersville and Terence Stevens (Cheryl) of Greensboro. A host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
Melissa was a friend to all who knew and loved her. She will be greatly missed.
