Pernell Pemberton, affectionally known as "Dad", was born May 11, 1941 in Wayne County to the late James Pemberton and Virginia Faison Pemberton. Pernell departed this life, on Friday, November 19, 2021 at Genesis Nursing Home in Mt. Olive, NC.
Pernell was raised in Mt. Olive and was educated in the Wayne County School System. Pernell's pastime favorites were fishing, watching the World Series, westerns and wrestling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers: Robert, James, Edward, Bobby and David Pemberton and two sisters: Mary Davis and Doris Pemberton.
Pernell leaves to cherish his memories to one son, Jeremiah Jermale Stokes (Morra); one grandson, Joshua McCullen, five step-grandchildren, Nyila, Caram, Earl, Beyonka and Jayvion; one sister, Elizabeth P. Stevens (Bobby) of Mt. Olive; brother, Harold (Mary) Pemberton of Kinston; three sisters-in-law, Leroise Pemberton (Robert) of Goldsboro, Yvonne Pemberton (Bobby) of Boston, MA and Brenda Pemberton (Robert) of Sanford. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and long-life friends.
