Warsaw - Mr. Preston Miller, 81 of 410 W. Plank Rd. Warsaw, NC transitioned Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Vidant Duplin Hospital.
Born in Duplin Co., he is the son of the late James Albert and Armittie Miller.
Preston lived most of his life in Warsaw, NC. He was educated in the Duplin County Public School system. He was employed by Quinn Wholesale and National Spinning in Warsaw, NC as a truck driver, retiring after 30 plus years. At an early age Preston joined Smith Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. As a faithful member, he enjoyed going to church and singing in the Male Chorus. In his later years when his health was failing, he continued to faithfully send his tithes and offerings to the church each Sunday.
Preston was preceded in death by his parents James Albert and Armittie Miller; brothers Robert Miller and Roy Lee Miller and sister, Annie L. Kornegay.
Preston also leaves to cherish his memories. One daughter Sidney Denise of Lillington, NC. Four sons, Lavaughn (Phyllis) of Queens, N.Y., James Albert (Andrea) of Durham, NC, Daniel O’Keith(Pete), of Warsaw, NC, Kelvin B. of Kinston, NC. Seven grandchildren, James Stephon; Kelvin Jr.; Raven Sydni; Kamell; Shaquille; Tamica and Telma; Eight great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Nannie M. Barfield of Mt. Olive, NC and Shirley M. Mills of Kinston, NC; two sisters-in-law, Eva Miller of Magnolia, NC and Mildred Miller of Kinston, NC. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
