Yonnie S. Davis

Yonnie Vee Davis was born April 28, 1932 in Duplin County, North Carolina to the late Raymond and Mary Ella Stanley and departed her well-lived life on Sunday, March 29, 2020.

Yonnie attended Duplin County Schools and graduated from Kenansville High School. After graduation, she attended college and later returned to Duplin County to pursue various nursing certifications. Yonnie was employed with the State of North Carolina for 30 years as a Healthcare Technician Supervisor at Cherry Hospital. 

She met the love of her life, Edward Morris Davis, in grade school.  Ten years later, they married on Monday November 14, 1955. This year they would celebrate 65 years of marriage and 75 years together. To this union, three children were born, Edward Dwight Davis, Evelyn Deloris Davis and Kiesha L. Cousar.

Yonnie is survived and cherished by her beloved husband of 65 years Edward Morris Davis of Goldsboro, North Carolina; her son Edward Dwight Davis of Raleigh, North Carolina; her daughter, Evelyn Deloris Davis of Raleigh, North Carolina; her daughter, Minister Kiesha L. Cousar (Gemelle) of Raleigh, North Carolina; one sister, Ava Smith (Harvey) of Seven Springs, North Carolina; one brother Remus Stanley (Mary) of Kinston North Carolina; two siblings preceding her in death, Helen White of Dudley, North Carolina; and Elder John Stanley (Gloria) of Deep Run, North Carolina; nine grandchildren, thirteen great grand children,  a host of nieces, nephews and close family and friends.
